Lot 185 Sharps Hawkins .32 RF SN: 8645

Manufactured between 1859 and 1874. Blade and notch sights with "ADDRESS SHARPS & HANKINS, PHILADELPHIA, PENN." in the flute on top of the barrel. The right side of the frame is marked "C. SHARPS PATENT/JAN. 25, 1859". This model was made without the side plate or extractor. The rotating firing pin is mounted on the hammer, and there is an interlock between the hammer and the barrel release to keep the pistol from opening or closing unless the hammer is on half cock. Smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur and barrel release, and fitted with smooth walnut flared butt grips. matching serial number on heel & underside of barrels. Blue finish on barrel is about 20% with the rest of the finish on the gun turned a molted gray patina, the bores are overall good/bright with some scatted patches of light pitting, mechanically excellent and the grips are very good with no chips or cracks.
